Securitize said Thursday it will put tokenized shares of Apple, Nvidia and Tesla on the Solana blockchain through a product, Securitize Stocks, that will initially cover 12 companies, according to a press release the firm shared with CoinDesk. The release names Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir alongside the three largest names, which accounts for 11 of the 12.

The stock tokens will initially trade on Securitize's existing Solana-based platform, with Jump Trading providing liquidity and transactions settling in USDC, the firm said. Securitize also expects the stocks to trade on the New York Stock Exchange's planned 24/7 digital trading platform and the upcoming OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue, a joint venture between NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange and crypto exchange OKX. Both expansions remain subject to those venues launching and meeting regulatory requirements.

The plans land in a market where established exchange operators and crypto firms are both building rails for equities on blockchains, drawn by round-the-clock trading, faster settlement and the prospect of using stocks as collateral in onchain lending. U.S. regulators are still deciding how to accommodate the products: the SEC rolled out an "innovation exemption" last month to open a path for new tokenized securities trading venues built on blockchain rails. The consequence for Securitize is that the near-term product is the Solana platform it already runs, while the marquee venues it is pointing to are still filings and plans.

Backed by shares, held as entitlements

Each stock token will be backed by an actual share and structured to preserve economic benefits and applicable shareholder rights, including dividends and voting rights, Securitize said. The tokens represent security entitlements rather than direct ownership on a company's shareholder register, though the release says conversion may become available when issuers adopt tokenization. That distinction is the same one that runs through tokenized-equity design generally: the investor's claim passes through an intermediary, and the issuer's register is untouched until it chooses otherwise.

"The opportunity is to bring equities onchain without leaving behind the ownership, investor protections and market infrastructure that make U.S. capital markets work," said Carlos Domingo, Securitize's chairman and CEO. The release says RQD will support the clearing, custody and settlement infrastructure connecting the tokenized shares to traditional securities markets, and that Ripple Prime plans to explore institutional uses for the assets.
