Ripple and CSD BR describe XRP Ledger mirror of Brazilian fund records as live-transaction work
CSD BR keeps official registration, deposit and settlement records while publishing a second copy of fund ownership onchain for BTG Pactual funds.
Ripple is the partner behind CSD BR's mirror of Brazilian fund records on the XRP Ledger, and the two companies describe the work as being in a live-transaction phase. The depository keeps the official registration, deposit and settlement records while a second copy of fund ownership is published to a public blockchain; this publication reported the mirror on Sept. 30, and the partner's identity is the new element in the October account.
The depository's database stays the record of truth, and a second copy of fund ownership covering the BTG Pactual funds sits on a public chain, a design in which the ledger reads as disclosure and reconciliation rather than transfer of title since CSD BR still handles registration, deposit and settlement. A regulated depository duplicating fund positions onchain is doing registry work, and tokenization's real demand shows up in collateral mobility and equity-token turnover, not in fund wrappers. An ownership mirror sits upstream of both: it makes positions legible to whoever eventually lends against or trades them, without asking the depository to hand over its register.
Ripple's institutional year runs the same way, from Jeonbuk Bank, which August coverage called the first Korean regional bank to run Ripple Payments, to SBI's licensed endpoints that include Ripple's rail alongside Circle's and Coinhako's. DAD's records list nine Ripple items this year through Sept. 27, one a $48 million deal announced on Sept. 10, the pattern of a company selling rails to regulated intermediaries. Payments move value; the Brazilian project moves records, which is the layer a market needs before anything settles against it.
A replica, and a rail with its own calendar
Dune counts $34.5 billion in tokenized real-world assets and says the value of individual-stock token holdings grew ninefold in a year, a market that formed around equity exposure rather than the fund-record layer CSD BR is testing. What the companies have not described is activity: no transaction count, no notional, no fund names beyond the BTG records. Treating a live-transaction phase as a live market does the announcement's work for it.
The rail keeps its own calendar: the XRP Ledger's Batch amendment, the upgrade tied to all-or-nothing settlement, slipped ten days to Oct. 9 after a validator reset, and products expecting atomic settlement from the ledger inherit that kind of drift. For CSD BR, the meaningful test is what the second copy is for: an audit trail, or a place where obligations can begin to attach.
