Still 23% below year-ago level

Even after the rebound, BlackRock's digital-asset assets sit 23% below the nearly $104 billion it managed a year earlier.

Over the past 12 months, BlackRock's digital-asset funds attracted $6.3 billion in net new money while declines in the market value of those assets erased $30.6 billion.

BlackRock operates the iShares Bitcoin Trust, known as IBIT, but the earnings release did not break out separate asset or flow figures for the bitcoin fund, so the quarter's economics are visible only at the aggregate digital-asset line.

The manager earned $39 million in quarterly fees and securities lending revenue from its digital-asset products, equal to about 0.05% of the quarter-end asset base.
